#25 LaTonya Sims
6'3 Forward
Racine, Wi
1997-01

At the time she graduated from high school, LaTonya Sims was perhaps the best high school girls player the state had produced.  The two time Parade All-American in high school became one of the best players in Badger history.  Sims was a smooth, athletic player who played all three front court positions, although she was so slender that she could be physically dominated by stronger players.  She was one of the top players in the Big 10 throughout her entire career.  Somehow, with all the honors and numbers, there is a but.  LaTonya Sims was never known for her work ethic.  At times she seemed lazy and she rarely seemed to be playing as hard as she could.    For as good as she was, she should have been better.
