Dee Dee Pate was a small, quick point guard who looked like a budding star in high school.  Then she got to college.  Dee Dee was the personification of a playground star who never really understood the game.  She could make an athletic play, although she was a horrible shooter, but she was just as likely to make a mental mistake.  For a point guard, that is fatal.  She had an excellent work ethic and got better as her career went on, but never reached the point of being even an average Big 10 point guard.
