Shawna Nicols is a point guard from high school powerhouse Pius IX High School in Milwaukee.  In many ways, she is a typical Pius player.  She is a fundamentally sound, heady player who understands the game and makes good decisions with the ball.  She is also a hard worker who will get the most out of her talent.  But she is slow.  Very slow.  Her lack of speed will likely limit her to a backup role throughout her career.  But she should develop into a solid role player who will contribute off the bench.  

2003:  Shawna was always a player who was willing to sacrifice her body to take a charge.  She did that too often.  She was forced to retire before the 2003 season because of post-concussion syndrome.

High School:  Gatorade State Player of the Year.  Named honorable mention All American by Street and Smith as a senior.  Averaged 9.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5 assists and 3.5 steals a game as a senior.
