Ashley Josephson will begin her first day of practice at Wisconsin as the team's starting point guard. Make no mistake, she would have started the season in the same position if senior Candas Smith would available instead of being academically ineligible.
She began the year at point and was making nice progress until she injured her back on Jan 16. She missed eight games and her play was limited after her return. In all, it was a frustrating year for her.
Ashley had a nice freshman year until the injury. She's a smart player, but she was too slow and sometimes intimidated by quicker players. Josephson is a well-rounded player who has to be more aggressive offensively. She will be counted on to score more and play as much as she can handle as a sophomore.
Honors:
High School: 2 time national AAU All American. Named first team All
State. Averaged 16 points, 2.5 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 steals a game
as a senior.
