#10 Janet Huff
Point Guard
Milwaukee, Wi
1980-84

Janet Huff came to Wisconsin as the "other" Huff.  Her older-by-a-year sister Theresa had a higher profile coming out of high school and had made an immediate, and large, impact on the Badger program.  Janet may never have been able to escape the huge shadow of her sister, but she still ranks as one of the very best players ever to wear a Badger uniform.  Janet was an athletic, heady point guard, who's skills would have served her well in today's women's basketball.

Janet was a very quick player, who was probably the first true defensive stopper the Badges had.  She was the point guard on some of the best offensive teams in school history.  Her first three years, when she played with prolific scorers, she played more the traditional point guard.  She did not have the advantage of playing with such scorers as a senior.  She stepped up and averaged just under 20 points a game while shooting a good percentage for a guard.

Janet was on the first Wisconsin team when the Big 10 officially began to give post-season honors and thus was the first Wisconsin women to earn first team all league honors.  She is also the only women's player at Wisconsin to be awarded the Big 10 Medal of Honor, which is given annually to the senior athlete, male or female, who is exceptional both as an athlete and as a student.
