Her senior year in high school was supposed to be the break-out year for Michele
Burkholder. Throughout her high school career, she had been in the shadow
of her older sister Jennah. Instead of coming into her own, Michele tore
her acl and missed the season. She never really recovered.
Michele was offered a scholarship by Mary Murphy with the expectation that she would recover and become at least a solid role player for Wisconsin. She was hampered by a lack of athleticism. She was hampered much more by a lack of confidence.
Whether she had Big 10 skills is something that will never be known. She was another victim of an acl.
