#44 Emily Ashbaugh
6'5 Center
Woodinville, Wa
2000-04

Emily Ashbaugh came to Wisconsin to be a key player in what was an excellent post rotation.  When Nina Smith transferred, Emily moved into the starting lineup in her sophomore year.  She went on to put together a career that was solid if unspectacular.

It was a career that left several strong impressions.  She was a player who always worked hard and always competed.  She was also a player who missed too many lay-ups and committed too many fouls.  She worked hard at her conditioning but was never able to get in as good of shape as she would have liked.

Emily was a solid player and an exceptional young woman.  In many ways she represented what a college-athlete should be.  But her numbers on the court should have been a little better.  She always seemed to be not quite as good as she could have been.
